The history of COMPETENZA began in 2003 in Nuremberg.

Andreas Lausen, Oliver Becker, and Hartwig Schreiner signed our founding document.

Our COMPETENZA Academy, also established in 2003, is a state-recognized training provider. Our instructors are distinguished by their many years of experience in dealing with hazardous substances in the areas of detection, assessment, analysis, and remediation practices. We also offer all of our seminars as in-house training courses for your organization.

Two years later, we celebrated the opening of new branches in Berlin and Ratingen near Düsseldorf, complete with additional accredited SEM laboratories.

Our Dreieich location near Frankfurt am Main opened its doors in 2007, also featuring an accredited laboratory. Four years later, we bid farewell to Hartwig Schreiner on a business level.

As of 2008, more than 50 employees were already working energetically and with a high degree of responsibility in the field of contaminant analysis—now at four locations—on your behalf.

The relocation of our headquarters from Nuremberg to Fürth in 2013 allowed us to continue growing. Just one year later, we celebrated the opening of another office—with the Hamburg branch, we now have nationwide coverage and a very strong market position.

2020—a year of many changes. Inga Lorleberg and Rüdiger Möllers took over management at the beginning of the year, followed by several rapid developments:

Our three branches in Berlin, Ratingen, and Hamburg moved into new facilities, and the Hamburg branch now also has its own laboratory. That laboratory will be accredited in 2022.

Since early 2020, we’ve also been offering EXPRESS analysis of plaster and joint compound, tile adhesive, and screed, guaranteeing that results will be delivered within 24 hours.
