Hygienic inspection

Air conditioning plants provide a pleasant climate in work areas and large building complexes. However, some of these air conditioning and ventilation systems also spread germs and bacteria with adverse   affects on the indoor environment quality. Regular maintenance and hygienic inspection of climate control devices and air conditioning plants is therefore a necessary and wise investment in staff health and performance.

The hygienic specifications for maintenance, inspection and cleaning of ventilation systems are laid down in the German VDI 6022 regulations. The VDI 6022 regulations apply to all air conditioning plants employed in offices, conference rooms, schools, indoor swimming pools, administrative buildings and production plants.

 
VDI 6022 defines the hygienic conditions for air conditioning plants on the basis of the best available technology. Air conditioning systems must be designed, operated and maintained in such a way that additional contamination of all air-conducting areas with inorganic and organic substances is safely avoided. The hygienic inspection must be carried out every two or three years, depending on the type of air conditioning used.
